Oakland Raiders Sign Fifth-Round Pick RB DeAndré Washington

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed fifth-round draft pick RB DeAndré Washington, the club announced Tuesday.

Washington was selected 143rd overall by the Raiders in last month’s draft. He played in 49 games over four seasons at Texas Tech, totaling 3,411 rushing yards on 605 carries and 23 touchdowns, and posting 124 receptions for 1,091 yards and four touchdowns as a receiver. The 5-foot-8, 200-pounder finished his career in fifth place on the Red Raiders’ all-time rushing list and became just the fifth player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season twice over their career.

A native of Missouri City, Texas, Washington set career highs in carries (233), rushing yards (1,492), rushing average (6.4), rushing touchdowns (14), receptions (41) and receiving yards (385) as a senior last year. He was also named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2015.

Oakland Raiders Sign First-Round Pick S Karl Joseph

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed first-round draft pick S Karl Joseph, the club announced Monday.

Joseph was selected 14th overall by the Raiders in last month’s draft. He played four seasons at West Virginia, starting 42 games. He totaled 284 tackles (209 solo), eight interceptions, 12 passes defensed, two sacks, eight forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries over his career. He was a team captain as a junior and senior and holds the school record with eight forced fumbles.

As a senior, the 5-foot-11, 200-pounder played in four games for the Mountaineers last year before suffering a season-ending injury. At the time of his injury, he ranked first in the nation with 1.3 interceptions per game (5 interceptions in four games). In 2014, Joseph was named All-Big 12 First Team by conference coaches and All-Big 12 Second Team by the Associated Press.

The Orlando, Fla., native was also a two-time Orlando Sentinel Defensive Player of the Year his final two seasons at Edgewater High School.

Oakland Raiders Sign Fourth-Round Pick QB Connor Cook

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed fourth-round draft pick QB Connor Cook, the club announced Monday.

Cook was selected 100th overall by the Raiders in last month’s draft. He played in 43 games with 39 starts over four seasons at Michigan State, totaling 9,194 passing yards on 673-of-1,170 passing (58 percent), 71 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. He is the school’s all-time winningest quarterback with 34 victories and set school records for passing yards, touchdown passes and passing attempts. He also tied a school record with 10 300-yard passing games.

As a senior, the Hinckley, Ohio, native threw for 3,131 yards on 229-of-408 passing and 24 touchdowns, helping the Spartans win the Big Ten Championship and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. He was also named the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Winner and Big Ten Quarterback of the Year, while earning a first-team All-Big Ten selection by the Associated Press.

Oakland Raiders Sign Seventh-Round Pick G Vadal Alexander

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed seventh-round draft pick G Vadal Alexander, the club announced Monday.

Alexander was selected 234th overall by the Raiders in last month’s draft. He was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Louisiana State, appearing in 50 games with 46 starts (25 at left guard and 21 at right tackle).

A native of Buford, Ga., Alexander earned first-team All-SEC honors from the conference coaches and Associated Press as well as second-team All-American honors from Walter Camp, Sporting News and Sports Illustrated as a senior in 2015.

Oakland Raiders Sign DE Damontre Moore

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent DE Damontre Moore, the club announced Monday.

Moore joins the Raiders after previous stops with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins. In three seasons, Moore has played in 45 games and totaled 50 tackles (36 solo), 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four passes defensed.

Originally drafted in the third round (81st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft, Moore played in 11 games for New York last season before being claimed via waivers by the Dolphins in December and appearing in three games for Miami. In 2014, the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder played in all 16 games for the Giants and set career highs with 24 tackles and 5.5 sacks.

The Desoto, Texas, native played in 38 games with 23 starts over three seasons at Texas A&M and totaled 197 tackles (116 solo), 26.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and three passes defensed. As a senior, Moore was named to the All-SEC First Team and a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award.
