Oakland Raiders Announce Transactions

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have elevated LB James Cowser to the active roster from the practice squad and placed CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on the Reserve/Retired List, the club announced Tuesday.

Cowser was originally signed by the club as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Now in his third year, he has appeared in 22 contests, made 28 tackles (21), one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Rodgers-Cromartie, an 11-year veteran originally drafted in the first round (16th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, was signed by the team as a free agent this past August. He appeared in all seven contests this season, making one start, and recorded six tackles, two passes defensed and one forced fumble.

The Raiders have also signed T Jamar McGloster to the club’s practice squad. McGloster, a 6-foot-6, 319-pound rookie lineman out of Syracuse, was originally signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft and also spent training camp with the Detroit Lions. The Newark, N.J. native appeared in 30 games for the Orange and made 24 starts.

Oakland Raiders Announce Transactions

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent K Daniel Carlson and elevated WR Marcell Ateman and G/T Denver Kirkland to the active roster from the practice squad, the club announced Tuesday.

Carlson, a 6-foot-5, 213-pound kicker out of Auburn, was originally selected in the fifth round (167th overall) of this year’s NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Carlson was a three-time All-American honoree by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and was the SEC’s Special Teams Player of the Year as both a junior and senior, while also garnering second-team All-American honors by the Associated Press (2016-17). He ended his career in college as the Tiger’s and SEC’s record holder for points scored (480), career field goals made (92) and consecutive PATs made (198).

Ateman was selected 228th overall by the Raiders in this year’s draft and saw action in all four of the team’s preseason contests.. The 6-foot-4, 216-pound receiver played four seasons at Oklahoma State, appearing in 51 games with 29 starts and totaling 146 receptions for 2,466 yards (16.9 avg.) with 13 touchdowns. 

Kirkland, a 6-foot-4, 335-pound versatile lineman is now in his third year with the club after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas in 2016. Over his tenure with the Raiders, Kirkland has appeared in six contest and made four starts for the club.

In corresponding moves, the Raiders have waived K Matt McCrane and have waived S Obi Melifonwufrom the Reserve/Injured List.

The Raiders have also signed RB James Butler to the club’s practice squad.

Oakland Raiders Place RB Marshawn Lynch on IR

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have placed RB Marshawn Lynch on the Reserve/Injured List, the club announced Monday. 

Lynch joined the Silver and Black via trade ahead of the 2017 season and has started in all 21 appearances for the club since his arrival, tallying 1,267 yards on 297 attempts (4.3 avg.) and adding 10 rushing scores. Over his 11-year career in the NFL, Lynch has appeared in a total of 148 contest and made 135 starts, recording 10,379 yards on 2,441 attempts (4.3 avg.) with 84 career scores, adding 287 receptions for 2,214 yards and an additional nine receiving touchdowns. 

Last season, the five-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro became the 31st rusher in NFL history to surpass 10,000 yards on the ground and just the second active player to compile at least 80 rushing touchdowns. Additionally, Lynch ranks fourth among active players with 34 career 100-yard rushing games and third in rushing yardage, while also leading the NFL with 61 rushing scores since 2011.

Oakland Raiders Acquire First-Round Selection, Trade WR Amari Cooper

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have acquired a first-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, the club announced Monday. As part of the trade terms, the Raiders have agreed to send the Cowboys WR Amari Cooper in exchange for the selection.

A first-round selection (fourth overall) by the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft, Cooper started in 47-of-52 career games for the club. Since joining the club, Cooper has tallied 225 receptions for 3,183 yards (14.1 avg.) and 19 touchdowns. A two-time Pro Bowler, Cooper became just the third player in NFL history to record 1,000 receiving yards and 70 receptions in each of his first two seasons (2015-16).

Last season, Cooper started in 12-of-14 contests and caught 48 passes for 680 yards (14.2 avg.), adding a career-high seven scores.

Oakland Raiders Sign Cabinda to Active Roster; Release Johnson

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed LB Jason Cabinda to the active roster from the team’s practice squad, the club announced Tuesday.

Cabinda, a 6-foot-1, 243-pound linebacker signed by the club as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State, played four years for the Nittany Lions, seeing action in 43 games with 36 starts. Cabinda finished his career ranked ninth on the school’s all-time list with 286 tackles (115 solo), adding six career sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 11 passes defensed and one interception.

In a corresponding move, the team has released LB Derrick Johnson. Signed to the team as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason, the 14-year veteran appeared in all six contests this season, making one start and recording 17 tackles (14).

Oakalnd Raiders Activate CB Daryl Worley

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have activated CB Daryl Worley via the Reserve/Suspended List and have added him to the active roster, the club announced Saturday.

Worley, who will wear No. 20, signed with the team this past offseason as a free agent.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound cornerback has appeared in 31 contests and made 25 starts, recording 150 tackles (111 solo), two sacks, three interceptions and 19 passes defensed. Last season, Worley made a career-high 14 starts for the Carolina Panthers and set career highs in interceptions (two) and passes defensed (10), while also adding 63 tackles.

In a corresponding move, the Raiders have released DL Tank Carradine. After signing with the team this past offseason, Carradine appeared in one contest and recorded one tackle for the club.

Oakland Raiders Sign OL Ian Silberman; Place T Donald Penn on IR

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed OL Ian Silberman via the Tennessee Titans practice squad, the club announced Wednesday.

Silberman was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round (190th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. After a short stint on the New England Patriots practice squad in 2016, Silberman was signed to the Raiders practice squad, while also signing to the team’s 53-man roster in December of 2017 after spending a portion of the season with both the Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns

The 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive lineman appeared in all four preseason contests for the Silver and Black this year. Silberman has appeared in one contest in his career during his rookie campaign with the 49ers.

In a corresponding move, the Raiders have placed T Donald Penn on the Reserve/Injured List. Penn signed with the team as a free agent in 2014 and started in all 64 appearances since his arrival
