Las Vegas Raiders Announce Transactions

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Las Vegas Raiders have made the following transactions, the club announced Wednesday.

Phillips: Returns to the Raiders after spending a portion of the 2019 campaign with the Silver and Black, appearing in four contests and registering four tackles (two solo), tallying an additional three on special teams…Originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2019 before signing to the Raiders’ practice squad ahead of Week 1….Spent five years at Oklahoma State (2014-18), playing four seasons and appearing in 42 contests, compiling 221 tackles (146), including 23 for loss, 6.5 sacks, three INTs including two returned for TDs, six passes defensed, six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries…As a senior in 2018, was named a team captain and earned team MVP honors, while also garnering All-Big 12 recognition after posting 98 tackles, the sixth-most in the Big 12 that season.

Young: Enters his 12th season in the NFL after most recently spending parts of 2019 with the San Francisco 49ers…Has spent time with the Miami Dolphins (2016-18), Jacksonville Jaguars (2013-15) and Buffalo Bills (2011-13) after originally being selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round (179th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft…Career totals include 92 games played with 21 starts…Prior to the NFL, was a four-year starter at Notre Dame (2006-09), starting in all 50 games, including 40 at left tackle and 10 at right tackle.

Seymour: Played four years at Rutgers (2016-19), playing in 46 career contests with 41 starts…Made all of his collegiate starts at right tackle after moving to the offensive line as a redshirt freshman…As a senior in 2019, started in all 12 contests and was recognized as the David Bender Trophy award winner as the team’s premier offensive lineman…Was also named Academic All-Big Ten.

Oakland Raiders Sign LB NaVorro Bowman

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent LB NaVorro Bowman, the club announced Monday.

Bowman, who has been named to four Associated Press All-Pro First Teams (2011-13, 2015) and three Pro Bowls (2012-13, 2015), has spent the past seven-plus seasons as a member of the San Francisco 49ers after being drafted by the club in the third round (91st overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

With San Francisco from 2010-17, the eighth-year pro appeared in 89 games with 74 starts, totaling 808 tackles (487 solo), 12.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, four interceptions and 28 passes defensed. Additionally, Bowman has played in eight postseason games, recording 97 tackles (49), 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and three passes defensed.

In 2017, the 6-foot, 242-pounder started five games for the 49ers and totaled 38 tackles (22) and one pass defensed. Last season, Bowman played in four games and totaled 40 tackles (20), one sack, one interception, two passes defensed and one forced fumble before being placed on the Reserve/Injured List.

A native of Forestville, Md., Bowman played in 33 games with 21 starts and recorded 215 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries during his three-year career at Penn State. He earned second-team All-American honors from multiple media outlets as a junior after registering 93 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Oakland Raiders Sign OL Marshall Newhouse

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed unrestricted free agent OL Marshall Newhouse, the club announced Monday.

Newhouse has spent the past two seasons as a member of the New York Giants after stops with the Green Bay Packers from 2010-2013 and Cincinnati Bengals in 2014. He has played in 86 games with 56 starts over his seven-year career, and has appeared in six postseason games.

Originally entering the league as a fifth-round selection (169th overall) by the Packers in the 2010 NFL Draft, Newhouse played in 47 games with 31 starts for Green Bay, helping the team reach the postseason each year he played for them.

Last season, the 6-foot-4, 323-pounder played in 10 games with six starts for the Giants and was part of an offensive line that allowed just 22 sacks on the season, third fewest in the league.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Newhouse played collegiately at TCU from 2006-09, appearing in 52 games over his career.
