Oakland Raiders Announce Transactions

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agents G Cameron Hunt and G/T Denver Kirkland, the club announced Tuesday.

Hunt, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound offensive lineman, originally signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in May of 2017. He spent the 2017 preseason with the Broncos and was later signed to the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad in November, where he spent the remainder of his rookie campaign. Hunt enters his second stint with the club after spending this past offseason with the team, appearing in all four preseason contests. A native Corona, Calif., Hunt played four years at Oregon. Over his career, he appeared in 52 games for the Ducks and made 43 starts, seeing action at right guard and right tackle.

Kirkland, a 6-foot-4, 335-pound versatile lineman was originally signed by the club as an undrafted free agent in 2016. Over his career, he has appeared in seven contests and made four starts. In 2018, Kirkland has appeared in one contest after being elevated to the team’s active roster from the practice squad in October.

In corresponding moves, the Raiders have waived RB C.J. Anderson and have placed G/C Jon Feliciano on the Reserve/Injured List

Anderson signed with the team as a free agent ahead of the club’s Week 14 matchup. Over his 67-game career, Anderson has made 37 starts and rushed for 3,155 yards on 717 attempts (4.4 avg.) with 20 touchdowns, adding 104 receptions for 883 yards and five additional scores.

Feliciano is a former fourth-round selection by the club in the 2015 NFL Draft. Over his four-year career, he has appeared in 48 games and made eight starts for the club. In 2018, Feliciano appeared in 13 contests and tallied four starts.

Oakland Raiders Activate DT Justin Ellis

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have activated DT Justin Ellis via the Reserve/Injured List and have added him to the active roster, the club announced Saturday.

Ellis, a run-stuffing 6-foot-2, 335-pound defensive tackle now in his fifth year with the Raiders, returns to the active roster having appeared in 60 games for the Silver and Black and making 41 starts. Over his career, he has totaled 134 tackles (82 solo), 0.5 sacks and three passes defensed. Last season, he appeared in all 16 contests for the second consecutive season and made 14 starts, collecting a career-high 44 stops (30) in addition to his first career half-sack. 

In a corresponding move, the Raiders have waived G/T Denver Kirkland. Kirkland was originally signed by the club as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He appeared in one contest for the team this season after being elevated to the active roster from the practice squad in October.

Oakland Raiders Announce Transactions

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent K Daniel Carlson and elevated WR Marcell Ateman and G/T Denver Kirkland to the active roster from the practice squad, the club announced Tuesday.

Carlson, a 6-foot-5, 213-pound kicker out of Auburn, was originally selected in the fifth round (167th overall) of this year’s NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. Carlson was a three-time All-American honoree by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and was the SEC’s Special Teams Player of the Year as both a junior and senior, while also garnering second-team All-American honors by the Associated Press (2016-17). He ended his career in college as the Tiger’s and SEC’s record holder for points scored (480), career field goals made (92) and consecutive PATs made (198).

Ateman was selected 228th overall by the Raiders in this year’s draft and saw action in all four of the team’s preseason contests.. The 6-foot-4, 216-pound receiver played four seasons at Oklahoma State, appearing in 51 games with 29 starts and totaling 146 receptions for 2,466 yards (16.9 avg.) with 13 touchdowns. 

Kirkland, a 6-foot-4, 335-pound versatile lineman is now in his third year with the club after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas in 2016. Over his tenure with the Raiders, Kirkland has appeared in six contest and made four starts for the club.

In corresponding moves, the Raiders have waived K Matt McCrane and have waived S Obi Melifonwufrom the Reserve/Injured List.

The Raiders have also signed RB James Butler to the club’s practice squad.
