ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed S Erik Harris to a two-year contract, the team announced Friday.
Harris joined the Raiders in 2017 after appearing in four contests with the New Orleans Saints in 2016. In his two seasons with the Silver and Black, Harris has appeared in 31 contests and made four starts, totaling 48 tackles (36 solo), two interceptions and seven passes defensed. Last season, Harris evolved into a contributor on defense and made the first four starts of his career, tallying career highs in tackles (43), interceptions (two) and passes defensed (seven).
Prior to his NFL debut with the Saints, Harris played three seasons (2013-15) for the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats, totaling 79 tackles, three interceptions, three sacks and four fumble recoveries in 42 games.
A native of New Oxford, Pa., Harris played four seasons at California (PA), appearing in a total of 52 contests and making 37 starts over his final two seasons with the Vulcans. Harris was selected to the Don Hansen Bowl as a senior, while also earning All-PSAC West Second Team honors after starting all 13 contests and recording 71 stops (37), three sacks and three interceptions.
