Stockton, Calif. – The Stockton Kings (15-13), the NBA G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, fell to the Wisconsin Herd (23-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Wisconsin Milwaukee Bucks, by a score of 107-101. Wisconsin guard Jaylen Adams had a game-high 28 points. Stockton was led by guard Daquan Jefferies who scored 23 points.
The game started with two 24-second shot clock violations to honor NBA legend Kobe Bryant. The Heard then jumped to an 11-0 lead. Stockton guard Isaiah Canaan’s free throws at the seven-minute mark would be the first points of the game for Stockton. Stockton then recovered to tie the game at 17 with two minutes remaining in the first quarter.
In the first half, Wisconsin forward D.J Hogg scored 10 of his 13 points and Stockton center Eric Mika scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Wisconsin ended the first half with a tight lead 52-48.
Adams scored 15 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter. The two teams were tied at 95 with 2:48 remaining in regulation. Wisconsin would then score the next five points to keep the lead, winning the game 107-101.
Stockton saw five players in double figures. Led by Jefferies with 23 points as forward Kevin Young added 20 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Mika finished the game with 14 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Marcus Graves added an additional 14 points and eight assists.
Wisconsin was led in scoring by Adams with 28 points, five rebounds and six assists. Center Jemerrio Jones grabbed 14 rebounds with 12 of them from the defensive end and added eight points.
The Stockton Kings are back home on Friday, January 31, to host the Memphis Hustle at Stockton Arena with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
