ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed unrestricted free agent T Trent Brown, the club announced Wednesday.
Brown spent last season as a member of the New England Patriots after spending three years (2015-17) with the San Francisco 49ers. He has played in 47 games with 44 starts over his four-year career and has appeared in three postseason contests.
Last season, Brown helped lift New England to a victory in Super Bowl LIII, while paving the way for an offense that ranked fifth in the NFL with 393.4 yards per game during the regular season. Brown helped QB Tom Brady reach 4,000 yards passing for the 10th time in his career, while becoming the fourth NFL player to reach 6,000 completions and 70,000 passing yards in 2018.
The 6-8, 380-pounder started 28-of-31 games for the 49ers after the team selected him in the seventh round (244th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.
A native of Albany, Ga., Brown played two seasons at Florida, appearing in 23 games with 11 starts for the Gators during his career. As a senior, he helped pave the way for 187.7 rushing yards per game, including five games over 200 yards.
