Raiders Trade WR Brice Butler To Cowboys For Conditional Draft Pick

The Oakland Raiders traded Wide Receiver  Brice Butler to the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday for a conditional 2016 draft pick.

If Butler is on 53-man roster for six games, the Raiders and the Cowboys Swap Dallas’ fifth-round pick for Oakland’s sixth-round pick.

Depending on how Dallas and Oakland finishes essentially the Raiders could be just moving up about 10-15 spots into the 5th round. Defining the trade the Raiders will have two fifth round pick one early one late and no sixth-round pick. That is if Butler is on Cowboys 53-man roster for six games.

The Cowboys will be without their star wide receiver Dez Bryant due to a broken bone in his foot. He is said to be out 6-8 weeks.

Butler was a seventh-round pick in 2013, and hung around despite being on the roster bubble since he got drafted. He played 25 games in his first two seasons, with two starts. All told, Butler had 30 catches for 383 yards and two touchdowns during his Raiders tenure.

Del Rio said in his weekly SiriusXM NFL Radio show that it allowed the Raiders to free up a roster spot to help other positions dealing with injury.

Butler announced the trade himself via Twitter
